Recreating My Shoe Collection

I have always been in love with beautiful shoes. Unfortunately, heels were never my friend. I have always had a love hate relationship with high heels so it's safe to say, I love them from afar. My closet consists of low and flatform heels, sneakers, flat and platform sandals. Regardless of the shoe, if it's beautiful and comfortable; it is safe to say I will add them to my collection.

Converse tend to dominate my shoe space. I understand some people do not care for converse considering how narrow they can be on the foot. I have learned all converse are not created equal. I truly have fallen in love with the platform converse. In addition to the original Chuck Taylors, my collection includes the platform and Run Star Hike versions of the shoe. I tend to buy the leather version of these shoes when I am looking for a more elevated style.

Flatform heels are my go-to heels. In todays' time where women are wearing very high heeled platforms these types of shoes can be somewhat hard to locate. I always look for the most comfortable version of the flatform style shoe. I make sure I like the look of the shoe and evaluate how much wear I will get out of it. When looking for a dressy style of shoe I have to take into account that the shoe may have to be paired with many different colors and patterns.

Metallics, neutrals and animal prints are my most worn shoes. Metallics and animal prints are a way for me to elevate what would otherwise be a basic look. I tend to pair my more elevated shoes with a lot of my monochrome looks or basic clothing items. For instance, I will pair a basic white tee and wide leg denim jeans with some gold studded slides. Our shoes can take a simple outfit and add character.

Shoes are accessories that tell a story about the person wearing them. Shoes play into our personal taste in fashion. We can be as conservative or as edgy as we choose to be at any given time. Look for shoes that speak to your inner fashionista!
